Questions builders ask
Can I send voice notes, texts or photos?
Yes. Send whichever is easiest: a voice note, a typed message, or a photo of an invoice, merchant receipt or subbie's bill. HeyProfit picks out the amounts, supplier and date and adds them to the right project.
Can my site managers and foremen send costs too?
Yes. Each team member messages HeyProfit from their own WhatsApp. Costs are tagged with who sent them and allocated to the right project. Only the people you choose can see project margins.
How does it know which project a cost belongs to?
It uses the caption, the site address or the sender's current project. If it isn't sure, it asks a quick question before logging it.
Does it replace my accounting software?
No. HeyProfit focuses on project-level costs and margin. Use the CSV export to pass figures to your bookkeeper or accounts package.
How are overheads worked out?
You tell HeyProfit your rough monthly running costs once, and it shares them across your live projects. You can update the figure any time.
What about VAT?
If you're VAT registered, tell HeyProfit and it will show figures excluding VAT. If not, prices are treated as gross.
Is my data private?
Your project figures are only used to produce your checks and summaries. They are not shared or sold.
Is this accounting or tax advice?
No. HeyProfit helps you understand project-level profit. Speak to an accountant for tax returns and formal accounts.
